Eight years ago, Troy Deeney was headed to prison after his involvement in a bar fight. It was five days after his father died of cancer, and the 24-year old spent three months in jail as a consequence. But hard work and perseverance paid off, and Deeney eventually fought his way up English Football ladder to become the star striker at English Premier League club Watford F.C.
Deeney has played five seasons with Watford dating back to 2015, and has scored 43 goals over the course of his tenure. However, the 6'0, 200 pound striker was playing on Division 2-3 teams as early as age 18.
Although Deeney recently underwent surgery on his leg after an injury sustained during a game, he expects to be fully fit and ready to play within the next several months, and may even be able to play once the Premier League returns in the summer after its COVID-29 induced delay.
Oher Tannen's German Shepherds can trace their roots back to Oher Tannen, Germany during the 1950s. However, owner Nadia Adams has since moved her operation to Atlanta, GA and has become one of the most reputable breeders in the Southeast, with multiple litters born every year.
Although Oher Tannen is not considered a dog kennel, they do have multiple breeding partners that give birth to several litters every year. However, they exercise quality over quantity, and have won numerous awards for their dogs' appearance, health, intellect, and training.
Although their headquarters are technically in Atlanta, don't get the wrong impression. Rather than situate themselves downtown, Oher Tannen's operations are run from a large plot of land on the outskirts of the city, leaving plenty of room for the dogs to play, romp, and cause a mess!
This shot was captured by Esther Horvath Photography during her trip to the “IceBird”, or Station Nord, in Greenland. Scientists and soldiers stay at the IceBird in small quantities during the year to study weather patterns and the sea ice that sits above the Arctic Ocean.
For months at a time, the outpost at IceBird is only inhabited by six or so individuals. With sub-zero temperatures and not much sunlight, the inhabitants keep 2-3 huskies with them for company and to boost morale during long winter periods.
The IceBird campaigns take place twice a year: In summer (August) and winter (March) when the sea ice is at its thinnest and thickest levels, respectively. In addition to IceBird, there are 5-6 other bases within the Arctic that scientists use to conduct their analysis.
The name of the Gyeonggi Province, the most populous province in South Korea, literally means “area surrounding the capital.” But aside from its sprawling population, the province is home to some of the most spectacular gardens in the world.
This photo, taken by local photographer and influencer Bang Tang, was shared on April 17 as the gardens were in full bloom during the Spring. This was also shot during a period where much of South Korea was still under mandatory shelter-in-place guidelines stemming from the spread of COVID-19.
